Neurology Practice

The project is organized into two primary spaces—a reception area and a consultation room—complemented by two adjoining restrooms. The existing conditions of the space, along with the building’s technical constraints, called for a suspended ceiling to conceal services and allow for proper ventilation of one of the wet areas.

The irregular geometry of the reception became a starting point for the design. A diagonal axis was introduced to give the space a clear identity—turning what could have been perceived as a flaw into a deliberate and defining feature. This sense of division is further articulated through the material treatment of the floors, walls, and ceiling.

The material palette is natural and restrained: plywood, exposed concrete, and lime-based plaster. Plywood plays a central role, forming both wall cladding and custom-built furniture. In the reception, it integrates a built-in unit that discreetly conceals the heating element. This language continues into the consultation room, creating a cohesive connection between the two spaces. The same material is used to shape a multifunctional zone that incorporates a sink, coffee machine, and storage. The desk is positioned centrally, with its proportions and geometry closely tied to the spatial composition and the furniture behind it.

Vertical decorative slats appear in both spaces, bringing rhythm and depth to the otherwise planar surfaces. Aligned with the diagonal, they reinforce the overall concept while also improving acoustics. They are designed to serve as a backdrop for the practice’s signage.

The color palette is soft and calming, drawing on the natural tones of the materials to create a welcoming atmosphere. Greenery is introduced to add warmth and comfort, helping to move away from the typically sterile feel of medical interiors.
